Beneficial Ownership

The Companies Act, No. 17 of 2015, was amended to introduce Section 93(A) which has made it mandatory for all Companies to maintain a Register of Beneficial Owners. This amendment has been effected through the Statute Laws (Miscellaneous Amendment) Act, No. 12 of 2019 as well as the publication of Companies (Beneficial Ownership Information) Regulations, 2020 detailing the procedure for compliance.
