Give to Caesar what Belongs to Caesar: Tax Filings

Among the famous fables told is “The Ants and the Grasshopper”. The ants spend the summer collecting food and preparing for winter, while the carefree grasshopper enjoys the season without concern. When winter arrives, the ants are well-prepared, while the grasshopper suffers the consequences of its actions. This fable can be seen as a metaphor for the consequences of failing to pay taxes and contributing to the welfare of society. With Kenya’s financial year running from July to June, the month to file our taxes is upon us and we are being reminded to file them to avoid incurring penalties.
