Music is food for the soul and artists spend their time using their talent to keep us entertained. The inspiration in producing music can come from anywhere but this does not come without controversy and allegations of monkey see, monkey do. In 2022, Ed Sheeran won a case in England’s High Court in which it was alleged that he plagiarized his 2017 hit “Shape of you” from the song “Oh why” by Sami Chokri and Ross O’Donoghue. Recently, a federal jury ruled in Ed Sheeran’s favor in a copyright case concerning his 2014 Grammy Award winning song “Thinking out loud.”
